Traditional 1933 Ford Model 40 5-Window Coupe Hot Rod.
This 5-Window hot rod was commission built by Rocky Mountain Street Rods in Arvada, Colorado in 2012 for a client based in Bozeman, Montana. The paint and body was done by Color on Wheels in Denver, Colorado and is finished in non-metallic battleship gray with burgundy pin stripes that match the burgundy wheels. The interior features a beautiful custom but stock appearing tan cloth interior with a brown vinyl rumble seat.
Under the cowl sits a 24-stud 239ci flathead V8 engine mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. The transmission has casting 18-336625 which matches the chassis casting number indicating the original transmission is still with the original chassis after 92 years.
The engine has a “59” casting indicating it is a 1946-1948 239ci for either a Ford or a Mercury as they were identical. It features period hot rod upgrades including Navarro aluminum heads, an Offenhauser aluminum intake manifold, dual Chrome 9 Super 7 two-barrel carburetors, Mallory ignition, MSD plug wires, polished Powermaster 12-volt alternator, and a Red’s Premium Headers exhaust.
The previous owner who commissioned this build relocated to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2023 and had Motor City Solutions Hot Rods & Restorations in Taylor, Michigan perform a multitude of services and updates totaling nearly $32,000. In 2023 we purchased a custom 1941 Chevrolet pickup that this gentleman had Rocky Mountain Street Rods also build and we jumped at the chance to purchase another incredible custom hot rod from him acquiring this 1933 Ford in May.
Additional features include an original dash presentation, the exception being the ignition key relocation from the column to the dash, with a quartet of modern gauges hidden away in the glove box, a floor mounted heater, roll down rear window, Optima Red Top battery relocated to the rumble seat area, a custom turn indictor stalk, custom headlights and taillights with integrated turn indicators, and Firestone Deluxe Champion radial tires on steel wheels with chromed caps.
Do not pass up this opportunity to acquire this traditionally built 1933 Ford 5-window rumble seat coupe hot rod. To replicate this today would be a 6-figure and multi-year endeavor. No waiting here, buy it today and start enjoying.
