Vintique Motors is thrilled to present this safari-style 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle coupe!
This 1302 Super Beetle is finished in olympic white over a blue vinyl interior and features a single port 1,600cc 4-cylinder engine fitted to a 4-speed freeway flyer manual transmission. Additional features included power assisted four-wheel drum brakes and independent suspension. Being a 1302 model, it incorporated a MacPherson front suspension with updated struts, wishbones, and a stabilizer which also allowed for a larger front trunk. Other distinguishing features of the 1302 include a flat windshield and smaller taillights.
Formerly a California Beetle, it underwent a past refurbishment with a repaint in olympic white which included new window and door seals and fender welts. The interior was also updated with a LeCarra steering wheel, new seat covers, carpet, dash pad, headliner, and retractable seat belts were incorporated. It was also converted from wheel bolts to studs with lug nuts Rivera wheels currently installed mounted on Goodyear Reliant tires sized 195/65R15 up front and Goodyear Allegra tires sized 215/65R15 out back.
Enhancements include a safari-style appearance with a slightly raised right height and a roof rack containing four Hella lights, a 1.5-gallon spare fuel can, a full-size spare, and auxiliary brake lights. Additionally, a front strut brace is installed as is a higher performance single exit muffler. Today it presents with 47,898 miles on the odometer and offers a unique way into Super Beetle ownership with an unmistakenly cool appearance with an appealing color combination.
