1984 BMW R80 Cafe
This 1984 R80 started life out as a R80RT model and was completely restored and modified in the cafe style. It is finished in BMW Citrin Black Metallic and features a custom hand tooled fatigued dark brown leather solo seat. It is powered by a 798cc opposed twin paired with a five-speed transmission and a driveshaft enclosed within the right leg of the swingarm.
During the restoration, a custom designed fuel tank was built and installed along with a modified subframe for the seat, LED tail lights and turn signals, LED headlight with high and low beam, clip on handlebars, bar end mirrors, custom spec’d adjustable shocks, custom exhaust, and a Motogadget Chronoclassic gauge. Additional features include an electric starter, alloy wheels, front disc brakes, and side and center stands.
Hailing from California, it later moved to Nevada where that owner commenced the restoration. In 2020 it would move to Michigan where it would join a private collection. Showing just 69 kilometers / 43 miles of use since it’s completion, it is offered running and driving ready for immediate enjoyment.
Disclaimer: It was purchased restored on a California salvage title and it is currently being offered with a Michigan salvage title.
