The 8th generation Corvette was released in 2020 as the first production mid-engine Corvette and featured a carryover LT2 6.2L V8 with improvements increasing the rated output to 490hp and 465 lb.-ft. of torque available as both a coupe and a convertible. In typical fashion, the more performance-oriented models of the C8 Corvette are rolled out in ensuing model years in which 2023 saw the legendary Z06 hit the scene.
It features an all-new aluminum LT6 5.5L V8 with DOHC, flat-plane crank, dual coil valve springs supporting titanium intake & sodium filled exhaust valves, forged aluminum pistons, and forged titanium connecting rods becoming the most powerful naturally aspirated production V8 rated at 670hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. The Z06 uses the same 8-speed dual-clutch transmission used by Stingray models, albeit with a shorter 5.56:1 final drive ratio for improved acceleration. Chevrolet claims this allows the Z06 to accelerate from 0–60 mph in 2.6 seconds.
This 2024 Z06 was built at Bowl Green, KY assembly October and is finished in Red Mist Metallic over a Jet Black leather interior. It was sold new at Matick Chevrolet in Redford, MI as a customer order. It is equipped with the top level 3LZ trim level with a base price of $130,650. It is equipped with $6,965 in options consisting of $2,595 for the adjustable front lift suspension, $1,295 for the Carbon Flash painted nacelles and convertible roof top, $995 for Red Mist Metallic paint, $695 for brake calipers painted Edge Red, $695 for the carbon fiber and suede steering wheel, $495 for the spider design satin graphite 20″ front and 21″ rear wheels, and $195 for the Carbon Flash painted mirrors for an as delivered MSRP of $141,910.
